Golgappa® Jewellery is designed and hand made by designer Pat in her dedicated South London studio. Golgappa® specialises in a collection of innovative jewellery designs that are exclusively found here on the website.
Pat is a jewellery designer, PMC [precious metal clay] tutor and a Content Manager. As an experienced businesswoman with over 35 years in Corporate Management, Product Development, Advertising and Direct Mail, her passions are running her own business and teaching.
Her qualifications include an MCSJ, Diploma in PMC, a City & Guilds in Silversmithing and 3D Design and craft, and Management. Pat owns her own Jewellery Brand with a UK registered trademark called 'Golgappa®'.
Pat's passion for handcrafted items stems from her trips to India where she was exposed to handmade jewellery, silk printed scarves, gemstones and many types of handicrafts in the many emporiums there where it is evident that there is something special about an item that has been handmade, with no two pieces being exactly the same.
Inspiration for Pat's handcrafted jewellery comes from India, Venice Murano Glass, as well as ancient Greece and Turkey.
We use as much recycled silver as possible, purchased from a very popular UK supplier.
Can your local Jewellery shop staff tell you where the Gemstone in any Jewellery they sell came from? Ask Them. Probably not!
Sustainable and Ethical Jewellery
Natural Gemstones with inclusions
Oven 90% of our GEMSTONES have been sourced from only one supplier in the UK, over a period of 14 years, along with all our Pearls, because they supply ethically mined natural gemstones that can be traced back to the Countries and mines from where the gemstones were sourced from. They ensure the people who work in the mines and in their workshops are treated very well and not exploited.
They also invest lots of money back into the communities by building schools and assisting in many local projects.
Approx 10% of our rare Gemstones have been sourced from Gem fairs.
We are proud to work with Companies whose values are aligned with ours. Who care about the workers and basic human rights and working conditions. The gemstone company we purchase the majority of our stock from works to support the workers in many countries and to ensure they purchase ethically mined natural gemstones. They frequently engages in charitable activities and support various causes, particularly those focused on empowering women.
We aim to be transparent about our purchases where 0ver 90% of all our Gemstones and Sterling silver/silver clay are from only 3 UK suppliers, so you know where the gemstones (as far as possible we will include the name of the Country the gemstones came from) and silver & how your jewellery is handmade made. 10% of our Gemstones / beads / jewellery making components were purchased from Jewellery fairs /Craft fairs /Other sources.
It is true many gemstones do have HEAT treatment. In some cases this is to get the best colour of a Natural Gemstone. It does not mean the Gemstone is less valuable than an unheated Gemstone.
The majority of our Gemstones are Natural with no heat treatment and they will have inclusions. These show how wonderful and RARE a natural Gemstone is.
The beauty of a Natural Gemstones is what our jewellery is all about.
Many of our designs and jewellery are one off pieces and may not be duplicated as we only have a limited stock of gemstones purchased over a 12 year period.
HANDMADE - Our Jewellery designs are Handmade. This means that there may be a little scratch here and there. Our sparkle may not be so high as we do not over polish our Silver. It means our Gemstones may have inclusions, but that shows it is a natural genuine gemstone and such a talking point. We want our jewellery to show that it is UNIQUE and HANDMADE.

With a commitment to quality and creativity, we bring your jewellery visions to life with precision and passion.
Most of our Jewellery pieces are ONE OF A KIND so it would be hard, if not impossible, for us to copy or replace an item, especially one that contains Gemstones. Some of our Gemstones are so rare we are not be able to source them again. Many of the Gemstones were purchased over 14 years ago, so have become rare, as many mines have now closed down.
